Our brain is much more receptive to learning when we care or are trying to solve a problem.

In my 16 years of language teaching experience, I've noticed that even if people know grammar rules and certain vocabulary, they still struggle to talk about matters that matter to them. (Pun intended)

Don't get me wrong, both grammar and vocabulary are important. However, if you want to speak English, you have to speak English. In other words, the more you practice, the better you get. There is no way around it.

If the latter paragraph made you slightly uncomfortable, know that it's a common reaction as many people are afraid of speaking and potentially making a fool of themselves. (It's all in your head) The beautiful thing is that when you really want to express yourself, when the topic truly matters to you, when you want others to see your point, suddenly, there is a completely new level of motivation. That's when you thrive and let me tell you, there is nothing more satisfying in my professional life than seeing a glint in your eye.

I'm also here to tell you when I see the behaviours that get in your way as it is also an important part of learning - the unlearning.

If you'd like to know if we're compatible, read further here. I hope to see you soon.

Toodles!

Dawn,
